And so it begins
In 14 hours time the first test of the 2014 #F1 season will start. At last many questions will finally be answered, plus more will be raised.
What will the V6 Turbos sound like? Will the turbo generation be as fast as the trusty V8s? Is the STR9 really sporting a blue cock on its nose?
Seriously what have Torro Rosso done???
There are far more important questions of course. After years of rule stability we've been used to 100% reliability, to a tight spread of performance and to a formula where the engines are equal. In recent years the top teams have only really enjoyed a slim margin of performance advantage over the rest of the field. This could change dramatically tomorrow. If either Renault, Mercedes or Ferrari have got thier sums wrong, 33% of the field could be instantly demoted to the B league. The difference between the front and back of the grid could be greater than we've seen since the 107% first appeared over a decade ago.
We wait until this time tomorrow, when the first day of testing will be over, darkness will fall and the analysis will begin. It's getting close, can you feel it comng?
